While there are many beautiful churches to be found in the Los Angeles area, none quite do justice like the Wayfarers Chapel. This beautiful building was designed by Lloyd Wright, the son of legendary architect Frank Llyod Wright in the late 1940’s. This church sits on an incredible setting that overlooks the beautiful Pacific Ocean. It is hard not to feel small while at this location! In addition, it has been used for several films and television series, such as the O.C.
There is no question that California has one of the most beautiful coastlines in all the world. However, not far from Los Angeles you can find perhaps one of the most beautiful areas in all of California at the Abalone Cove Shoreline Park. This park features some of the most incredible tidal pools that are absolutely perfect for little hands to get up close and personal with some of the most unusual marine life in the world. Take the time to explore and if you still feel safe after seeing just a bit of what lives in the deep, go for a swim. The area has experienced lifeguards on duty all weekend long. And if you decide the water just isn’t for you, there are playgrounds and picnic areas available.
Most people who either live in Los Angeles or travel here would probably not consider it a hiking area unless it was shopping related! However, Los Angeles has one of the most beautiful areas in Mount Baden-Powell that is perfect for a morning or afternoon hike. In fact, it has some of the most beautiful views you will find anywhere in Los Angeles. Ths is one area you do not want to be without a camera as the scenery is stunning.
If you are in Los Angeles do not feel as though you are trapped by concrete and glass. There is so much more to this beautiful city than meets the eye. In a day you can view the glorious Pacific and later hike up a mountain range. This makes Los Angeles the perfect destination for those who want to have an outdoor adventure while not having to sacrifice all the comforts of a big city.
